La comprensione dell'anatomia, dell'istologia e dello sviluppo della ghiandola mammaria equina è alla base dello studio di patologie quali: galattorrea, agalassia, mastite e sviluppo del tumore mammario. Questo lavoro esamina lo sviluppo prenatale della ghiandola mammaria equina e il successivo sviluppo post-natale del tessuto associato al ciclo riproduttivo.
